SHAW PARK GARDENS
Shaw Park Gardens, located on a hilltop in St. Ann, it covers 10 hectares including a sparkling waterfall and lush tropical trees and flowers. Shaw Park is an exquisite botanical garden overlooking the Bay of Ocho Rios. Stroll the walkways and staircases of this unique garden setting and view a variety of tropical plants and flowers. Once the setting for one of Ocho Rios' magnificent hotels, the immaculate gardens have been well preserved with its paths and stairs leading throughout a series of levels along a slope adorned with a plethora of tropical vegetation.
THE ENCHANTED GARDENS
The Enchanted Gardens is located on a natural river gorge with 14 waterfalls on 8 hectares of land in Ocho Rios, St. Ann. Offering a nature walk replete with a wide variety of palms, heliconias, anthuriums, lilies, ferns, hibiscus, orchids and bromeliads, it also includes an exotic aviary, scenic ponds and a sea-water aquarium. You can spend days exploring the 20 acres of gardens via a maze of nature trails which crisscrosses the grounds. Charming, wooden walkways bridge the bubbling waters, offering exhilarating walking through and around the 14 natural waterfalls. The highlight of the tour is the free-flight Aviary with over 80 species of magnificent birds from around the world. Meet Scotty the friendly Macaw, listen to Mandela the chattering Lory who imitates ambulance sirens and catcalls. Admire and take photos of the white peacock in its entire splendor, the majestic African Crane and the Chilean Flamingo.
COYABA RIVER GARDEN AND MUSEUM
Coyaba River Garden and Museum in Ocho Rios is located on 0.3 hectares, this garden boasts jade, ginger, traveler's palm and a wide variety of orchids as well as a museum highlighting the Taino period of Jamaican history. Coyaba offers the serenity of a genuine water garden fed by streams that rise on the property, exquisite Jamaican-Spanish architecture and natural aquarium. Available for functions and weddings. It also features a recording studio.
Dunn’s River Falls
A trip to Jamaica or the North Coast cannot be complete without a visit to this world famous waterfalls. Enjoy a beautiful waterfalls that offers the climb of a lifetime. It starts at the beach where it refreshing water empties into the sea and marvel at the view from the top. Dunn's River Falls is unique. Described as a living and growing phenomenon, it continuously regenerates itself from deposits of travertine rock, the result of precipitation of calcium carbonate from the river, as it flows over the falls. The small dome-shaped cataracts are usually associated with thermal spring activity found in limestone caves. This, combined with its location near to the sea, gives Dunn's River the distinction of being the only one of its kind in the Caribbean, if not the world.
FERN GULLY
(South of Ocho Rios) This is a three mile stretch of roadway built on a old river bed. It winds through a lush valley with a variety of over 600 ferns that forms an archway over the roadway. View rear plants, trees and see some of the most unusual craft items carved by the people of this island.
